Human Rights Documentaries was a program that aimed to bring together documentary films that focused on human rights related issues with audiences in Anatolia. Ten documentary films from Turkey and the world were screened in Çanakkale, İzmir, Eskişehir, Bursa and Afyon from October to December 2010, and later, from May to June 2011, in Mardin and Batman. Within the scope of this event that was supported by local administrations and universities, in addition to screenings, panels related to films were held in every city that was part of the program.

At free-of-charge screenings held in 6 different cities Serge Avedikian’s “Hayırsız Ada” (History of Dogs/Chienne d'Histoire), Lars Edman and William Johansson’s “Toxic Playground” (Blybarnen), Diana Deleanu’s “Humoresca” (Humoresque), Cahit Çeçen’s “Nasty Age” (Kahpe Devran), Cenk Örtülü and Zeynel Koç’s “Brutal Consciences” (Taşlaşan Vicdanlar), Emre Karadaş and Deniz Oğuzsoy’s “The Wall” (Duvar), Murat Utku’s “Resister” (Direnişçi), Anders Østergaard’s “Burma VJ - Reporting from a Closed Country” were shown.

The human rights documentaries were prepared in collaboration with Documentarist and supported by the Consulate General of Sweden, Istanbul.
