Children's Rights Children's Books

Within the scope of the project Children's Rights Children's Books that was realized from September 2010 to May 2011, the short stories of five Swedish writers and the illustrations of five Swedish artists were used as context to create an awareness of children's rights. In creative writing and drawing workshops organized in Istanbul, Çanakkale, Bursa, Samsun and Diyarbakır, children made paintings describing the short stories, and wrote stories based around the illustrations. 187 children took part in the workshops carried out by Leyla Sakpınar, Şiir Özbilge and Ali Arda. The books prepared in the workshops were published by Ayrıntı Publishing House. The book launch was held at the the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul on 3 May 2011.

The Children's Rights Children's Books project was realized with the partnership of the Swedish Writers' Union and the support of the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul.
