In every city that took part in the Children’s Rights Children’s Books project, 3-day writing and drawing workshops were held. 187 children from Bursa, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Istanbul and Samsun aged 9 to 14 illustrated the texts of Swedish writers, and created short stories for the drawings of illustrators. The aim of the workshops was to bring together children of the same age from different economic and social groups and from different schools so that they could experience working together. 15 children from each city took part in the writing workshop, and 30 children took part in the drawing workshop and a non-hierarchical method based on group decisions was followed in order to consolidate the self-confidence of the children.
