Episode 9

Architecture of Social Media and Disclosure (Turkish)

In this episode of Justice Atlas, we will be talking about the search for justice in social media with our guests, political scientist Alev Özkazanç, philosopher of technology Melis Baş and digital human rights researcher Şebnem Keniş. The principles on which international companies build their social media platforms will be discussed, focusing particularly on how users seek justice in that realm through methods of disclosure.

Some of the questions we will be seeking to answer in the episode are as follows:
What are the differences between Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and Facebook from the perspective of justice? How are the posts that users encounter moderated by algorithms? Which content is eliminated and why? What kind of  a crisis does the search for justice in social media point to? How is disclosure, a feminist method, shaped in social media? How do these platforms transform collective wisdom?
