Heimatlos: Path to Freedom

The exhibition titled 'Heimatlos' focused on German scientists who in 1933 and after, abandoned their country as a result of the policies of the Nazi government and came to Turkey. The exhibition features personal manuscripts and quotes from the lives in Germany and Turkey of Ernst Reuter, Paul Hindemith, Alfred Braun, Ruth Sello, Robert Anhegger, Walter Ruben, Ernst Praetorius, Rudolf Belling, Carl Ebert, Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky, Julius Stern, Bruno Taut, Hans Bodlaender, Eduard Zuckmayer, Georg Tabori, Alfred Joachim Fischer, Clemens Holzmeister, Martin Wagner, Gustov Oelsner, Erna Eckstein and Ernst Engelberg, and their biographies are also documented with photographs.

The exhibition 'Heimatlos: Path to Freedom' was organized in collaboration with the Goethe Institute and the Milli Reasürans Art Gallery, and was supported by Verein Aktives Museum and the Turkish-German Businesspeople Culture Foundation.
